The Legacy Process

On your first visit we will guide you through a short interview and schedule your subsequent appointments. In total the treatment process requires one hour per day, five days a week for seven weeks. We encourage you to be sure and keep all of your appointments. If you miss one it will not have a negative outcome on your treatment, and we will add another session on at the end of your schedule.

During EECP®, patients lie down on a padded table with cuffs (like blood pressure cuffs) wrapped around the calves, lower thighs, and upper thighs. These cuffs inflate sequentially from the calves toward the upper thighs while the heart is in its resting phase, and deflate just before the heart beats. The patient's heart is monitored by an EKG machine, which, through a computer, regulates the inflation and deflation of the cuffs. The result is an increased supply of oxygenated blood to the heart muscle and a reduction in the heart's workload.
